My Approach

-
SIMPLE, ACCESSIBLE TOOLS & STRATEGIES
My approach is simple. Simple and accesible tools and strategies that equal big results and accomplished goals. You will be armed with takeaways you can use immediately.
-
Support through community
We are social beings and we need community to thrive. I am deeply committed to facilitating community spaces to help you connect, find support in others, and to thrive.
My story
I am a BC local who grew up in the sunny Okanagan.
I travelled the world in my twenties, worked in hospitality as my first career, went back to school as a mature student, and have called Vancouver home for 10 years.
I came to study and stayed for the mountains, ocean, and community I built.
I care deeply about social justice and equity, particularly gender equity.
I acknowledge my position of privilege as a white, straight, cis-gender settler, and am committed to creating inclusive spaces in my work for BIPOC and LQBTQ2S+ folks. I am always learning and unlearing how to be a better ally.
I live and work on the unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) and səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations. I have immense gratitude to be a guest on these beautiful and abundant lands.
MY WORK IS ALL ABOUT HELPING PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS CULTIVATE WELL-BEING, RESILIENCE, AND ACCOMPLISH GOALS.
My journey to coaching all began with a rejection email after my fifth (yes fifth!) interview for my ‘dream job’ in municipal government.
If you’re anything like me you’ve been living a life that checks all the boxes: university degree from a good school, partner who was on track for marriage and children, the quintessential ‘dream job’ that would get you to where you ‘should’ be and check even more boxes.
You are doing everything ‘right’, everything you are supposed to be doing , but there is something inside of you that doesn’t quite feel it. You ignore this feeling and trudge forward, quieting this internal voice, so focused on achieving your goals.
I was exactly where you are, until loosing my dream career opportunity took me down a path I never expected.
After many months and many interviews (and compulsively checking my email every waking moment) I received a rejection email. I was stunned and lost, I had put everything into getting my ‘dream job’ and I felt like a failure. What do I do now, I thought? This wasn’t in the plan. I was so discouraged and lost and turned my rejection inward. I had no idea where to turn.

What happened next changed my life…
I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED HELP WITH MY NEXT STEPS, THAT I COULDN’T DO IT ALONE (NOBODY DOES IT ALONE!)
That’s when I started working with a career coach and it changed my life.
Through the process of personal exploration and discovery, with the support of my coach, I shifted my perspective and discovered that I wanted to start my own coaching business.
This wasn’t a huge leap as I had been working as a career coach and facilitator for survivors of trauma at a non-profit for three years. But my coach helped me identify that coaching really lit me up and aligned with my values, and the life I really, really yearned for!
The work with my coach also coincided with my personal and spiritual transformational journey.
I discovered mindfulness meditation, self-compassion, and positive psychology.
These discoveries are backed by a significant body of research (my inner skeptic always questioned ‘self-helpy’ stuff and I wanted to see the science behind it!) and are strengths-based, focusing on what is right with us, not what is wrong with us.
I loved how they translated into simple and accessible tools and strategies that anyone can learn and practice.
Once I started using them myself I saw a profound change in my mindset and sense of well-being.
I experienced a personal & spiritual transformation, the best way I can describe it is an opening of my heart, in my ‘ordinary life’.
I did not go on a retreat, I was not sitting on a mountain meditating for hours a day, this was all a result of my mindfulness and self-compassion practices, and learning more about myself, resulting in significant growth and clarity!
I have been coaching ever since and for the first time in my life I know with my whole heart and soul that this is my life’s work, not just the checking of a box.
